Mercury glass was first created in Germany in the early 1800s.
It was used as a more inexpensive material for candlesticks, vases, goblets, and other objects.
Mercury, or silvered glass, is glass that has a silvery appearance and it actually contains no mercury.
I have a small collection of new mercury glass and it makes a pretty "wintery" display in my home.
I keep it displayed on my coffee table and end table for the winter months.
It gives off lots of sparkles and glitz!
Do you have any mercury glass pieces?
Love that you can purchase " new " mercury glass that appears old at a fraction of the price of original, vintage pieces! You have one beautiful pieces. Thnx for sharing. Tiffany
