Thanksgiving Breakfast for Two

Once again I am joining Rita from Panoply where a group of us share our seasonal table settings.

We won't be home this Thanksgiving as we will drive the 7-8 hr drive to Ohio to spend the week with our daughter and her family.  So, this table is staged for a breakfast for two!

My table is over 100 years old the wheels still roll easily!  It is perfect for two people, although I have seated 4 a few times!

The napkin rings, flatware and stemware are MacKenzie-Childs

The centerpiece is simply an old book topped with a "book box" and a mini candle:

The table runner is long so I just folded up each end toward the center:

The stack is a luncheon sized plate from Home Goods and a leopard dinner plate from Hobby Lobby:

Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. Patty, I'm fond of tables for two! I always had our table set for the two of us so it was inviting to come together for our meals. As they say, setting the table is the new decorating. Your antique table is special. I love a round table and have a round tabletop pad that I can place on our oval table to make it more roomy when I have 8 at the table. Gateleg tables, which ours is, are also a favorite because they can be oval or long and narrow. Variety is the spice of life. Your plate stack with the MKC napkin rings and flatware are delightful. Safe travels to Ohio and Happy Thanksgiving!

  8. Patti, this is such a sweet table for two! I love your mix of leopard, turkey plates, and MKC. Those goblets are really pretty and folding the table runner to fit your table was so clever - it looks like a placemat the way you have done it. Your old table is fabulous too. I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter and her family and wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving!

Patti, I like your muted color scheme and the way the traditional details offset the modern ones. Together they create a serene atmosphere, perfect for a quiet breakfast before heading off on a long road trip. (One which I have regularly taken from Georgia to Ohio for holidays and family celebrations.) Varying the textures added lots of interest. Hope you enjoy a marvelous Thanksgiving week!
