So far the snow storm has missed us.......

Tea for me....

I had a little tea party this afternoon at three.
’Twas very small, three guests in all,
Just I, myself and me.
Myself ate all the sandwiches,
while I drank up the tea;
’twas also I who ate the pie and
passed the cake to me!

I am joining Artie again for Vignette Fridays...please visit to see what other participants are sharing today
I was in the thrift store today and found these beauties! I love the shape of the sugar bowl and creamer and I also loved the price - only $4.00!
Now my dilemna....do I polish them or not? I know Jane from Mamie Jane's would say to leave them as is, but there is nothing like shiny, bright, glistening silver....so I am in a quandry....
If I polish them it will take so long to get back to this patina....If I leave them alone, I will be wondering what they would look like all cleaned up!

I was thinking of putting some greens in them for the holidays, or a little bottle brush tree...what do you think?
For now they will sit on the mantle...anxiously awaiting the holiday decorations to join them. (oh, wait, that is ME anxiously awaiting the holiday decorations!)

Gold and Chocolate Cake

This gold vignette was in a window display at Bergdorf Goodman's in NYC this past weekend:
This photo doesn't do it justice but it was so glitsy and sparkly! What could possibly be better than a gold and chocolate cake?

The Kitchen Counter

I'm sharing this little vignette on my kitchen counter with Artie's Party at Color Outside the Lines
A butter dish from Anthropologie:
It's a fun corner of my counter that I can change in a minute!

The dining room diamonds...

Joining Color Outside the Lines again this week to share this vignette in my dining room:
The mirror is an old Chippendale mirror that my mother refinished over 40 years ago.

I LOVE this tassle (Hobby Lobby)

The Uncomfortable Chair...

Artie, from Color Outside the Lines is hosting Vignette Friday, so I thought I would share my "very uncomfortable chair" with all of you:

Many years ago I bought this chair at the Regional Market in Syracuse. I painted it and recovered the seat:
It has to be the most uncomfortable chair I have ever sat upon.
So I treat it like a table top:
Sitting upon it is a fake book, a few little pillows I made and a candlestick, which holds a candle I colored with a Sharpie marker (as you might remember, I love my Sharpie markers because you can color ANYTHING with them):
This little pillow was made from fabric found in a sample book and I made the flowers from organza fabric:
I am searching for a replacement for this chair because foam and batting will not do the trick, even the back is uncomfortable, and the chair squeaks, and it doesn't match anything else I have, and so on!! BUT, it works well as a table!
