A Snowy Dinner....

We had about 8 inches of snow over the weekend.

I spent Sunday in my PJs binge watching Schitt$ Creek - and enjoyed every minute on the couch!

In the Canadian sitcom "Schitt's Creek," a wealthy couple -- video store magnate Johnny and his soap opera star wife Moira -- suddenly find themselves completely broke. With only one remaining asset, a small town called Schitt's Creek, which the Roses bought years earlier as a joke, this once-wealthy couple must give up life as they know it. With their two spoiled children in tow and their pampered lives behind them, the Rose family is forced to face their newfound poverty head-on and come together as a family to survive.

We had pizza delivered for dinner - the poor guy said he wasn't very busy and that the roads were cleared well, so our feeling of guilt was set free!

So in between the quick commercials of the tv show, I set the table with cute snowman dishes....

...and a snowman sitting atop of a MacKenzie-Childs mini pedestal platter!

You can barely see out the windows!

This is John's favorite pizza:

This time we ordered broccoli, sausage and cheese:

And the best part?  I quickly got back on the couch and continued to watch Schitt$ Creek!!

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

The Tales of the Traveling Tote - Special Edition! AND A GIVEAWAY

At the end of November, the 10 of the "Tales of the Traveling Tote" bloggers were each surprised with a special gift from MacKenzie-Childs to celebrate our 5th anniversary of Wanderlust!:

We knew something wonderful was coming our way, but we had no idea what the gift would be:

Each of us received a unique, hand made tote bag, designed especially for each of us.  The designers did a little research on each of us and chose fabrics to suit our personality!  As a fan of black and white, as well as animal prints, mine was just perfect!

Someone noticed that my last few trips to MacKenzie-Childs had me wearing animal prints!

As I pulled my tote from the gift bag I was "thunderstruck" - what a perfect blend of fabrics....

...and a sweet note from the designers:

The bag is the perfect sized tote, and is constructed very well with sturdy handles, lots of pockets and checked trim cording.  The metal MacKenzie-Childs name plate, button and tassel add a special flair to the bag!

I had John take a quick photo of me before I left the house that day:

I decided to name my bag Mz Tizzy and her "maiden voyage" was a trip to Virginia and Washington DC at the end of November....

...filled with my computer and recipe magazines!

On a snowy December day Mz Tizzy and I joined friends for a Christmas lunch and "she" got lots of attention from my friends, and the waitress, too!

And then just before the new year, this happened:

A new grandson arrived, so I hopped on a plane to DC, and in all the excitement, I left Mz Tizzy in NY!

To thank the designers for our bags I sent a little "Tales of the Traveling Tote" token gift:

Each of the women bloggers who participate in the Tales of the Traveling Tote received a lovely, unique handmade bag, designed just for each one !

And then we had fun and all found a Carousel in our area to take our new bags on a magical ride:

As the poem says, to make this keepsake gift even more incredible, they sent us one to giveaway

This ONE OF A KIND tote is so charming, with romantic patterned textiles, a beautiful buttoned medallion, tassel and a gold MacKenzie-Childs plate!

Ten on the 10th...Scarf Storage....

I have too many scarves, however in Central NY during the cold months I wear one every day!  I thought this storage hack was worth sharing again

#1.  I tried the scarf  "clothes hangers" with huge holes, and that didn't work.  As I tugged one out of the large hole, the others would follow and I would end up with a few on the floor.

#2.  I tried folding them neatly on my closet shelf and they would end up with creases (and I always wanted the one on the bottom of the pile - see result #1)

#3. I tried "s" hooks (see result #1)

#4 I tried to stop buying scarves - that was a joke!

SO....

I found a store that was throwing out "sock hangers"  ....

...and I bought an expandable curtain rod.  I hung it up at the end of my closet

I can see them all and they are easy to grab!

And here is an old video to remind you of the many ways to wear a scarf:

This didn't even cost me $10 to organize!!
