Happy St Patrick's Day!
St. Patrick was the Patron Saint of Ireland and the missionary credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. In Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is a public holiday and holy day of obligation. St. Patrick's Day is celebrated annually on March 17, the anniversary of his death in the fifth century.
Leprechauns are actually one reason you're supposed to wear green on St. Patrick's Day—or risk getting pinched! The tradition is tied to folklore that says wearing green makes you invisible to leprechauns, which like to pinch anyone they can see.
We will be eating green for breakfast today:
For many people, a list of St. Patrick's Day drinks would include green beer and shots of whiskey, but here is one of my favorites:
"May you get all your wishes but one
So you always have something to strive for."
Thanks for stopping by, Patti
