The Everson Art Museum in Syracuse, NY has a yearly holiday event/fundraiser called the Festival of Trees and Lights. I have participated for over 30 years with a donation of a decorated tree, garland or holiday decor.
The week after Thanksgiving is "decorating time" and/or drop off. I recruited a few friends this year to decorate trees with items donated by a friend, in memory of her sister, Carol, who decorated many trees for the Roberson Museum and Science Center in Binghampton, NY in years past.
Joe decorated the Elves tree.....
....here are Brenda and Tobey decorating the Gnome tree....
... Jamie (@heyitsjustjamie) decorated this tall beauty....
...and I decorated a "Tartastic Checked" tree, with items generously donated by Mackenzie-Childs:
Here are the donations I made this year:
Friday was the VIP Preview Night. Invited guests included sponsors and donors to the Festival of Trees and Light. We got to listen to a preview of local celebrity Carrie Manolakos’ performance, which she will give on Saturday Night.

About the design of the Everson Museum: I.M.Pei, (1917-2019) Chinese-American architect was known for his creative use of modern architecture and open spaces. The Everson Museum was his first museum commission and was completed in 1968. The Museum was designed to be a grand sculptural object sitting in a plaza and the staircase is the most dramatic design inside the building. During his six decades of architectural work, he designed some of the world's most recognized buildings such as the Louvre, Kennedy Museum, The Bank of China Tower and the East wing of the National Gallery.
