Tales of the Traveling Tote #37

The Tales of the Traveling Tote is a series of adventures that share where our Mackenzie Childs tote bags have taken us.  Four times a year a group of 10 bloggers each write a connected post about the places we have been. We also offer a fabulous MacKenzie-Childs giveaway on one of the 10 posts each quarter.  We have built incredible friendships through our blogs and we hope you enjoy our tales as much as we do!  To read about how it all began, go HERE

Here's what we have been up to:
September

We took a little getaway and traveled the ferry over Lake Champlain to Vermont and the next day came back to NY and drove to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake.  We often stay at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge, overlooking Lake Flower:

This was also "apple pickin' season" and we spent a day in the orchards and the pumpkin patch with these little rascals:

The end of September was spent in Aurora, NY at the MacKenzie-Childs Artisan Craft Festival.   Eight of us rented and Air B&B for the 4 days again this year and the memories of this weekend will last forever!

October
I spent a weekend in the Thousand Islands with more Macfriendzies.  We attended a wedding that was filled with lots of Courtly Check, love and excitement!

November
My BFF from college days and I spent 4 days in NYC - we walked the Highline, saw a great play, ate the best food and enjoyed lots of cocktails!  We visited the MacKenzie-Childs store in SoHo, shopped the Christmas Market in Bryant Park, watched the skaters in Rockefeller Center, relaxed in mant rooftop bars and enjoyed 2 restaurants with fabulous entertainment!

I ended the month at the Everson Museum decorating a MacKenzie-Childs tree for their Festival of Trees and Lights.  The ornaments, ribbon and trims were generously donated by MacKenzie-Childs for this fundraiser and I donated the Balsam Hill Tree.  During the 2 week event, the trees are available for sale and all proceeds go to the Art Museum.  Here is work in progress:

I ended the month with friends making Kissing Balls at the Nature Center - this is a yearly tradition that we look forward to each year!

  1. Patti, you are always on the go and your fall was filled with so many fun trips and events! Your adventures with the MacFriendzies sound like so much fun, I would have loved to go to the Artisan Craft Fest. Your NYC trip sounds amazing too, how wonderful to still have a close connection to your college roomate! I hope you have a fabulous birthday next week, I wish we could celebrate together!

  2. I think you have been a busy girl with your fun getaways! I know you enjoyed your time in the orchard with the littles picking apples and then fun times at the pumpkin patch. I love the chair pics of friends at the MC Artisan festival, must have been a wonderful event. Weddings are always fun. The big move was last year, it was overwhelming!

  4. You are busy, Patti, and I love seeing all your fun activities. How is the SoHo store? I would love to go there. I've had friends purchase gifts for me from there, but I've never been myself. The little tree you decorated for the fundraiser is darling! I bet it made lots of money! I would love to visit Aurora again, maybe this year I can plan a trip. Your grands are so cute. There are so many fun, wholesome things for kids to do in autumn. Merry Christmas! ~RJ

  5. Patti, I love the way you are always on the go. Make the most of these years as you begin your new decade. All of your travels and fun times with the grandsons makes life full! I'd love to attend the MC Artisan Festival. Perhaps next year! I suspect the MC tree is going to be popular at the Everson event. Fun project! I'm slowly getting Christmas decor out here. Tree is up and decorated! Now if I can just find a missing tree skirt! Happy Holidays!

  6. Patti, whether you're with family or Friendzies, your trips are ALWAYS so fun to see. You are truly making the best of retirement and all that's available to you, and the best part is you really don't have to travel far to do any of it! Your trip to NYC was definitely one for the books (and booze, lol). I really enjoyed all the many more photos shared on Facebook. Thanks for taking us along as you live life so fully!

  9. What fun adventures you had with the MacKenzie girls! It is really nice to see them. You are so amazing at getting people together. My son took his family with all 6 kids to NYC for Thanksgiving. Seeing his pictures and yours made me ready to go again! We need to do the group there again since I wasn't part of the group yet!
