Tales of The Traveling Tote #35

Welcome to the 35th edition of The Tales of the Traveling Tote and our 8th year of sharing our travels!

The Tales of the Traveling Tote
is a series of adventures that share where our Mackenzie Childs tote bags have taken us.  Four times a year a group of bloggers each write a connected post about the places we have been. We have built incredible friendships through our blogs and we hope you enjoy our tales as much as we do!

Here's what Mss Kenzie and I have been up to the last 3 months:

MARCH

We were invited to a wedding of the son of our dear friends, who was getting married in Jamaica, so we decided to spend the week at Excellence In Oyster Bay.  We were greeted at the entrance with champagne and happy faces!

We quickly found our friends and the bar while waiting to check into our beach house!

Every morning we walked along the shore....

The 40+ guests were all given a straw hat upon arrival and we wore them all week.  It made it so easy to identify all the wedding guests!

The beautful bride and groom:

The reception was in a huge palapa at the far end of the resort and the tables were set with gorgeous flowers and individual wooden name tags.

The groom's mother (c) and aunt, we have all been friends for 40 years:

Our favorite of all the pools was the infinity pool beside our beach house:

It was quiet and serene with a lovely view of Falmouth:

We went into town one day for a few hours to pick up a few souvenirs for our grandsons, so I grabbed my "to go tote" which is very light weight:

This tote was also perfect for my afternoon at the Mille´ Spa:

I had a fabulous hydrotherapy treatment....

Steam room, cold shower, walked on hot rocks, cold water drop, hot water plunge, cold water plunge, skin scrub, head massage, skin lotion and ended with a heat bed to relax!

In front of our room were palapas with cushioned lounges, perfect for reading and relaxing....

....and the beach circled the whole resort:

After a week of being spoiled it was time to return home.....we missed our connection in Charlotte and the airline put us up in the Sheraton and gave us meal vouchers, so our vacation was extended one day!!

APRIL

Another reason to celebrate: Meeting friends for Mimosas at 7 am at the MacKenzie-Childs Warehouse Sale - Would you check out all those different bags!!!

MAY

My friend, Tobey, and I took a class at Crazy Daisies, a flower and garden cafe and made "Pansy Wreaths" and a few day later we went to a local greenhouse/brewery and we painted flower pots:

Mother's day was spent at  Churchville Park with our two grandsons and a crowd....

lots of giggles....

....and lots of fun...

At the end of the month I had a "Patti Day" and drove out to MacKenzie-Childs in Aurora:

Sitting by the fountain, overlooking Cayuga Lake on a sunny day certainly brightened my mood!

The poppies were in full bloom:

On the way home I stopped at The Elephant and Dove in Skaneateles for a late lunch and a margarita!!

And a MUST DO in Skaneateles is to bring home dessert:

I was also fortunate to bring home a few goodies from the M-C - Don't you love their new bags?:

We kept hearing about a local joint on the river near our home so on Memorial Day weekend we found the Wild Horse and enjoyed dinner on the deck - It was finally a warm, sunny night and perfect for "boat watching" and listening to music while we had a drink and dinner!

I't been a delightful spring and I look forward to a few summer adventures with my Traveling Tote!

  1. I love the idea of destination weddings. The resort (and amenities!) look fantastic! My best friend's daughter is planning her wedding now, and she might get married in Barcelona next year, and I'm all in! Were you able to do anything fun while in Charlotte? I love Charlotte: Our Westies are from there!

I really need to get to Aurora for one of these sales. Maybe I can make it to the craft show in the fall. I love the bags, and I must ask: What treasures do they hold??? ;P

  2. Oh Patti, your trip to Jamaica looks like it was amazing! The resort sounds incredible! You're so lucky to live so close to Aurora and can pop over for a visit often, I guess that's a little dangerous too, ha ha! I love your painted P flower pot, adorable! The floral MKC bags are so pretty! I hope you have a wonderful summer~

  6. Patti, that destination wedding was fabulous, as seen through all your photos here and on FB. That spa day sounded outstanding. I like the idea of a me (Patti) day, and taking time to do exactly whatever makes you happy. Bringing goodies home is a nice way to eliminate any guilt, hehe. Here's to a summer as fabulous as your spring was, meeting with friends, family, and enjoying the weather with new adventures. Cheers!
