Welcome
The Tales of the Traveling Tote is a series of adventures that share where our Mackenzie Childs tote bags have taken us. Four times a year a group of 10 bloggers each write a connected post about the places we have been. We also offer a fabulous MacKenzie-Childs giveaway on one of the 10 posts each quarter. We have built incredible friendships through our blogs and we hope you enjoy our tales as much as we do! To read about how it all began, go HERE
Here's my tale:
September in the Adirondack Mountains
Once again we rented the Antler House for a week in Jay, NY:
Every night was spent by the campfire eating S'Mores!
We took hikes along the Ausable River:
We drove up the back side of Whiteface Mountain:
We returned at the end of the month to see the foliage and stayed at the Saranac Waterfront Lodge:
We visited lake Lake Placid again....
...and Saranac and Tupper Lake regions!
October
Octo-Bear-Fest
What a fun party I went to for all of us Mackenzie-Childs collectors! The home was filled with pumpkins galore, lots of good food and drink, and fabulous people! Paul Carmen Photography took some fantastic photos, including one of three of the Tales of the Traveling Tote Instagrammers.....
What a fun group of people and "two hosts with the mosts":
October in Massachusetts
In October we traveled to Massachusetts and stayed in the Berkshires at the historic Red Lion Inn
You can read more about the Inn

Cape Cod
We then left for Plymouth and Cape Cod - MY HAPPY PLACE!
The weather was gorgeous! We visited Grays Beach in W. Yarmouth, and walked on the "Boardwalk to Nowhere". A month later the Nor'Easter knocked out the boardwalk and sadly, it needs a lot of repair.
We shopped in Falmouth Center and enjoyed a stop at Falmouth Heights Beach:
Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards
This is a yearly event for us, visiting the #1 Apple Orchard in the US - Picking apples, tasting the new vodkas and bourbons in the Tasting Room, lunch in the cafe and a hayride!
At the end of the month we traveled to Erie, Pennsylvania and Ohio to spend Halloween with our two Grandsons.
We shopped in Erie, returned to the Wharf for a sunset dinner and stayed at the Wyndham Hotel:
Halloween fun with family was lots of fun!
Callan was a little dinosaur and his brother Carter was a blow-up dinosaur!
Our great niece and great nephew joined Callan and Carter and their friends for a fun night of
Trick-or-Treating
November in New York
Au Chocolate is a yearly "shop local" event that I attend in Baldwinsville, NY. My friend Gloria and I shop-hopped and this year Miller's Crossing was a new shop for us to visit. Our favorite was Two Twisted Sisters/Olives Eatery, as always:
I also enjoyed a day in Aurora with 9 friends, shopping and touring the farm house....
...and lunching at the Aurora Inn was delish:
It's been a busy fall, but after last year, it felt great to spend time with family and friends!
The best part of November was the arrival of two new family members:
Our great nephew, Aiden:
Our 4th grandson, Anthony:
Life is good!Wishing all of you a very happy holiday season!
