Apple Pie....

Making an apple pie can be quick and easy if you use an apple slicer and a plastic bag for mixing!

I peel the apples and cut them into wedges and then slice each wedge into two pieces....

I mix the flour, sugar and spices in a plastic bag and toss the apples into the bag to coat:

I use a prepared pie crust:

And then dump everything into the bottom crust, and drop a few dabs of butter on top, and then put the top crust on:

A few slices or an apple cut out so steam can be released:

And let it sit for 1/2 hour before slicing!

The sun was shining so we had a mid afternoon snack on the front porch!

And it was delish!

Recipe:
Ingredients:

1/3
to 1/2 cup sugar
1/4
cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2
teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2
teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8
teaspoon salt
8
cups sliced peeled apple wedges (8 medium, I used Empire apples)
2
tablespoons butter

Directions:
Mix first 5 ingredients in a large ziploc bag.  Add sliced apples to bag and toss to coat.  Drop them into a prepared pie crust and dot with butter.  Cover with top crust, slice a few steam openings and bake at 425' for 40-50 min.  Let sit for 1/2 hour before cutting into it!

  3. You've inspired to bake an apple pie now! Mission accomplished I guess☺ I used to be such a pastry snob, always thinking my own was so devine. The last few years though, I've decided that store bought is more than acceptable. Especially since I've gotten too lazy to make my own!
