A Stamped Velvet Pumpkin and a Giveaway....

Today is 10 on the 10th hosted by Ann from Apple Street Cottage, where we create something while keeping our budget under $10.00 on the 10th of each month.

This project is very simple, and expensive!  I bought a foam, hollow pumpkin at the Dollar Tree and cut out the stem:

I purchased a 1/2 yd of velvet and cut it into two 18" squares ($7.00 1/2 yd OR $3.50 per pumpkin).  I also went thru my old rubber stamps and pulled out this leaf stamp, and heated up the iron:

I placed the stamp under the right side of the velvet, facing upwards:

I held the hot iron on it for 10 seconds, holding it steady:

The stamp and heat flattens the pile on the velvet:

Using this same technique, I randomly stamped all over the 18" piece:

The pumpkin was placed in the center of the fabric, wrong side up:

The fabric was then pushed into the center hole of the pumpkin:

The stamping added a little more texture and design to the fabric:

I added an old dried out pumpkin stem from out last year's pumpkin, by hot gluing it over the hole:

I gathered some scraps of ribbon and stacked simple bows with a silk leaf:

I attached it to the stem with hot glue:

I can make another pumpkin with the leftover fabric, so 2 pumpkins cost only $9.00 to make!

If you would like a chance to win this pumpkin, leave a comment below and I will pick a name in a few days!

Here is one I made last year with cotton fabric:

Hop over to see what my creative friends made for under $10:
