The Switch

My sister-in-law and I switched outdoor furniture. She gave me this great rattan loveseat and footstool, and I gave her two wicker chairs - Need I say, I got the best part of this deal!!!
The loveseat was a pinky-beige color so I gave it a quick spray of 2X glossy white ( only 1 can) to brighten it up:
Now I have to find a deal on outdoor fabric so that I can make new cushion covers!
But for now it's perfect - I tested it out today for a quick nap and it worked well!

Wine Cork Bulletin Board

Remember the Cork Wall in my kitchen?
I bought a bulletin board at Goodwill and dug into what was left of my corks:
Here's the finished wine cork bulletin board:
A quick and easy project that used over 400 wine corks.
I didn't drink all that wine ok...most of it
It makes a great message board:

Mackenzie Childs Tea Cup

I found this Mackenzie Childs Tea Cup at Goodwill for $.69. I saw it from a distance and might have pushed, shoved, plowed over "nudged" a few children out of the way to grab it off the shelf.
I knew immediately what I would do with it...
...I planted basil in it and put it by my kitchen work area:
Don't you just love basil?

My Herb Garden Box

If you have been following me for a while, you know how I hate gardening - but that I love flowers and herbs.
To avoid getting my hands in worm and insect infested dirt I went on the hunt for a raised box for my herbs. I bought this "box on a stand" at a garage sale for $5.00 and removed the lid. A little white spray paint covered the ugly colored wood:
I planted parsley, basil, oregano and chives and placed my rocks to identify each herb (as if I would forget!) and there are a few back-up plants below:
I also added a cheap little plaque from the Christmas Tree Shop:

The Sea...

There is something rejuvenating about getting away and spending a few days at the sea.
I wish I had a little white cottage with a sandy yard, full of sea grass and shells, and a large deck overlooking the ocean.
Walking the Boardwalk in Sandwich, on Cape Cod, can change your outlook in just a few minutes....

Garden Chair

I recently bought this chair for $2.00 at a garage sale:
While I was on Cape Cod over the weekend, I found these at an antique store in Falmouth:
The boxes on the chairs above and below are attached and plants are just sitting inside:

But this one has a bowl shaped of chicken wire attached to the seat with the plant planted inside:
So, now I am trying to figure out how to decorate my $2.00 chair! Stay Tuned...

I added hands...

I added "hands" to the clock table and now I am wondering if it needs something in between the numbers (there's not enough space to add the missing numbers)...maybe dots? Opinions?

Another clock table....

I saw a fabulous coffee table makeover at A Vintage Vine and I wanted to do something similar. I actually have a very similar table to the one she made over but I thought I would try it with this end table first:
The table was only $15.00 at the flea market. I sanded it and painted it Heirloom White:
I traced some Roman Numerals that I printed from Word on the computer and painted them freehand:
I sanded the table to "shabby it" up a bit:
And here is the final result. I am considering painting the "hands" of the clock on it.
But for now I just put a plant on it:

Wine Tasting Party ~ Q and A

Last week I shared my Wine Tasting Party and I received tons of emails asking for more information.
First, The favorite wine of the night was Fissata Red. It was a "light sparkling wine, with a nose of musky roses, a mouth full of sweet red fruits and a gentle effervescence that keeps you coming back for more". It is a blend of three indigenous Italian grapes and was $17.99 a bottle.

The label on the wine is adorable!
We also tasted a Kuri Limari Valley Sauvignon Blanc from Chile, a Scotto Chardonnay Marsanne from California, Tanglerose Sonoma Country Backyard Red from California and Vina Alamosa Premium Cabernet Sauvignon Cachapoal Valley from Chile.
The company that came to my home is The Traveling Vineyard and the wine consultant also gave us lessons on tasting and shared some wine accessories (they sell a fabulous corkscrew!)
I purchased a variety of cheeses and wine crackers and made a few cheese fondues served with a variety of breads. I also invited my girlfriends to stay after the presentation to "taste" some more (I had a variety of about 10 different wines- the favorite was Red Cat!). A few "slept over". I chose to have "favors" to hand out to my guests (just something I like to do - I LOVE themed parties!).
The delivery from Traveling Vineyards, of about 30 bottles of wine and numerous accessories, arrived within a week!

This was a very easy party to have with little preparation. Go visit their site and see if their is a consultant in your area - it's a fun time!

Hope this answers all of your questions, if not, just ask!
