Tea, Hearts and Snow….

We have had quite a bit of snow and it is cold here!  There is nothing like a cup of tea to take the chill away.

But a cup of tea alone is not too enjoyable without a sweet treat!

I made the cutest little shortbread cookies….

…and iced them in shades of pink...

My favorite creamer and sugar is an Indiana Harvest Grape Milk Glass set.  I also have a set of 4 tea cups and saucers and 22 dinner dishes.  Milk glass brings back childhood memories!

You can see the snow on the background - brrrr!

The recipe for these little treats can be found at Fresh Eggs Daily.

And if you are looking for more special treats to make, try Susan Branch's Sweets to the Sweet book:

A Valentine's day approaches, remember this:

  3. Hi Patti,
Your cookies are adorable! I love the milk glass, the design is really pretty. It's cold here in PEI too. It's been a very cold winter and we have over one hundred centimeters of snow on the ground which we received the past two weeks. I am longing for springtime. Thank you for stopping by for tea and Happy Valentines week!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  11. Patti, the cookies are as cute as they can be. Love the petite size. Perfect sweet with a cup of tea. Your Susan Branch book is one I need to order. Her illustrations are so delightful.
My sweet mother had a beautiful collection of milk glass. One of my nieces has it. I was thrilled that it stayed together and that one of her granddaughters appreciates and enjoys it. Your set is lovely. Did it come from your mother?

  14. Your cookies turned out so good!!! The icing is very professional! I have never been able to ice cookies worth a darn. I recently saw a tutorial on how to dip them in a shallow pan of icing. I may try that next time.

Great quote by Maya Angelou. What a wise woman she was. I have a quote by her on my home page.

You did a wonderful job! Enjoy the cookies and have a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend!!!
