SO, What was my recycling project? I used an old pair of jeans.....
I have a pair of jeans that I have used for a few different projects.....
I cut a strip that was an inch longer than the size of my wrist and then used a pin to create a fringe on each side of the seam:
I sewed a large snap on the ends:
A while ago I made some clay hearts out of Sculpey:
I hot glued one onto the denim:
And then decided I really didn't like it....
.....so I ripped it off....
...and sewed on a jeweled button, which I liked much more:
The button was very similar to my ring, too!!
And I still have enough jean fabric for plenty more projects, so stay tuned!

What a great idea, Patti! My daughter made a ring from an old pair of jeans years ago and still wears it. Maybe I need to make her a bracelet to match!
ReplyDeleteYour denim bracelet is so pretty, Patti. I've made some myself and had to laugh when you "ripped it off"! I'm the same way - try one thing and realize it's a definite "no". Great project!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely upcycled jean bracelet. The heart was cute but the jeweled button is stunning, what a fun piece of jewellery to make from old jeans!
ReplyDeletePatti, love your bling! My grandma is in a nursing home, and I have been wanting to make her a bracelet that would be sturdy enough to endure life there. She sends beaded bracelets to me that she makes, and I have been wanting to return the favor. I just could not figure out what to make it with. I was thinking fabric from one of her old shirts, but jean would be so much more durable. This is just in time since her 103rd birthday is approaching, thank you so much for your inspiration. I cannot wait to get started. I need that bling for me, it's wonderful.
