Strawberry Sugar...

I love Strawberries....

...especially in the morning!!!

Have you ever made strawberry sugar?

In Central NY we pick fresh strawberries in June, but right now the berries at the grocery store are delish!

I oven dried some strawberries to make strawberry sugar - it's very easy to do!  I used a "strawberry slicer" to slice the berries in the exact same width, so they bake evenly:

I sliced 5-6 berries and they were spread out on a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet:

The berries were baked in a 200° oven for 2 hours and then I turned them over and baked for another hour.

When they reached room temperature I used a food processor to mix 1/2 cup dried berries and 1/4 cup of sugar to make the strawberry sugar.

Store in an air tight container!

This is perfect for sprinkling on berry muffins or sugar cookies before baking, dusting a fruit salad to sweeten it a bit or add to a pie.

My favorite is to rim a cocktail glass when making strawberry mimosas or strawberry cocktails!

Yum!

And here are a few more of my favorite strawberry recipes:
