A Night with Edgar Allan Poe

This was a. fun 'pop-up' experience in Syracuse, NY last week:

Edgar Allan Poe passed away over a century and a half ago but his works of gothic horror and detective fiction are still considered classics today.

This immersive experience was a captivating and spine chilling event, listening to 4 of his most infamous tales at the historic Palace Theater in Syracuse at a Pop Up Speakeasy.

The Palace Theatre is a 1920s-era movie palace in the village of Eastwood in Syracuse. It was owned and operated by the same family for more than 80 years. Today, under new ownership, it has become and event, entertainment and local gathering venue.  The lobby was filled with candles for this open seating event.

BornJanuary 19, 1809, Boston, MA and DiedOctober 7, 1849

The theater was also filled with many candles, setting the mood for the readings!

Each reading was introduced with a cocktail and we were lucky to secure front row seats in this sold out event!

The readers/actors were fabulous, entertaining and at times humorous!

If this traveling speakeasy comes to your area, I highly recommend seeing it!
