My Mother's Day gift from Caitlin and family was a night at The Rising Storm Brewing Co taking a workshop on planting a Bonsai Tree.
Pronounced BOON-SI, it translates to "tree on a tray".
They have long been considered a symbol of peace and harmony in many cultures. Traditionally, bonsai trees have been given as a symbol of appreciation and respect, representing the long life and patience of those who nurture them.
We planted a Schefflera tree!
I chose a oval cream ceramic pot and Catie chose a blue rectangle pot
We took off most of the dirt around the roots and placed it in our pots....
...we used zip ties to secure the tree to the pot and added an organic potting compost.
We were taught how to water and care for the tree, while enjoying a beverage from the brewery!
Then we had to trim our tree!
Mine made it home safely and is happy in this sunny window!
This was a fun mother/daughter night with Catie and a fabulous Mother's Day gift!
