Thinking outside the box and inside the "pail"!

I love using beach pails for summer entertaining.  The shovels, sand sifters, and rakes that often come with the pails are often perfect for serving, too!

Read on to see a variety of ways I use pails!

Potato Salad
(potatoes, eggs, celery, onion, mayo, mustard, paprika and black pepper)

Pina Colada Dip:
1 small box instant coconut pudding
8 oz crushed pineapple
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 cup milk
Mix with a electric mixer and chill for about 1 hour. serve with fresh fruit.

"Beach Pail Cocktail Gifts":

Fill mini pails with a mini bottle of liquor, a shovel for stirring, a straw and umbrella and add a mixer!

This one has mango vodka and pineapple juice....

...and this one has Malibu coconut rum and Coca Cola:

I placed the pail into a cello bag and taped the beach pails onto the mixers.  A tag describes the cocktail!

A simple beach pail is perfect for chips - Use a mini pail for serving salsa!

The Dollar Tree has cute trash pails - perfect if you make White Trash:

WHITE TRASH

3 c Cheerios
3 c Corn Checks
3 c Rice Chex
1 c peanuts
1c pretzel stix
1 bag M&Ms
1 1/2 lb white chocolate buttons

Mix all dry ingredients in a very large bowl.  Melt chocolate in the microwave and pour over dry ingredients.  Toss and toss so that all dry ingredients are coated with chocolate.  Pour out onto parchment or waxed paper and spread.  Once chocolate has set, break up candy and store in zip bags.

NUTS

  3. Love the white trash. I saw those at the dollar store and thought what cute thing could those be made into. Well you nailed it. White Trash!!! Super cute all of your ideas. On vacation on the beach this week could use a bucket or two of yours. Really creative and fun. Have a great week. Kris @ junk chic cottage.
