Big Moo Cheese

Have you tried this?
Big Moo sent me a complimentary pack of 5 of their Baked Cheese flavors:

Bakin' Bacon, Roasted Garlic, Cheesy Pizza, Hoppin' Jalapeno and Oh-So Original flavors!

From their website:
THE BIG MOO is hand-crafted in the rolling hills of south-central Wisconsin in the heart of cheese country. Using only the finest milk sourced from local dairy farms, we believe that small batches and happy cows make for the best cheese in the world. And that’s how THE BIG MOO was born.

In Wisconsin, baked cheese is something of a local favorite. An old Scandinavian tradition that came here decades ago and one with many names. Baked cheese, Juusto … But whatever you call it, we just call it delicious!

The Big Moo cooks up crispy on the outside, warm and oh-so incredible on the inside. Seared in a pan, tossed on the grill, or baked golden-brown in the oven, The Big Moo is sure to be the life of the party.

“I love a good bonfire and searing Roasted Garlic over an open flame. Then I dip it in fresh raspberry jam.”

I baked the Bakin Bacon flavor for 10 minutes @ 425° and then used cookie cutters to make cute heart shapes:

We found the Bakin Bacon to be very mild so the next time we spread some homemade Bacon Jam to the top and it was delish!! Here's the recipe for Bacon Jam:

This enhanced the flavor and also added a little crunch!!!

I simply baked the cheese, sliced it into strips with a pizza cutter and drizzled bacon jam on top:

I think this Jalapeno Jam would also be good on it, adding a little spice to the cheese:

I served the Roasted Garlic cheese with Bacon Jam and our guests loved it!

The next flavor we tried was the Oh-So Original and after baking I spread some raspberry honey mustard on cut pieces:

We loved this combination!

We still have a few flavors to try, but we have decided that we like the hot cheese with a topping to enhance the flavor.

Thank you Big Moo for the variety pack and we look forward to trying the jalapeno and pizza flavors - these might not need toppings!!

Visit their website to order, to find recipes and read the nutritional info.  It's a unique cheese and I found it to be a perfect appetizer for happy hour!  It was also fun to introduce our friends to the Big Moo hot cheese.

  2. I found this cheese on Amazon ~ outrageously priced!! Went to the Big Moo website ~ much more reasonably priced! Can't wait for my order! Thanks for the heads' up!
