I always have mixed feelings this time of year. For my WHOLE life, since I was 5 years old, school has begun for me on the Wednesday after Labor Day. The weather cools, leaves turn, and I have to go back to work after enjoying the last 10 weeks off from school.
The 2 toughest challenges I have are getting up at 6 am and learning 120 names of 6th and 8th graders. The second one is the worst because each student wants you to know their name and the older I get, the longer this takes me to accomplish.
So blogging might be a bit haphazard for the next few weeks as I spend time planning lessons, going to bed early and especially memorizing my student's names!
God bless you, Patti! May this back-to-school season be the very best since you were five years old! And may you have memory super-powers!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband had mixed feelings about returning to school today after having the summer off. In fact, I just got done reading an article in the Wall Street Journal today about the Post-Labor Day Letdown. Wishing you a great school year!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful school year! Your students are very lucky to have you as their teacher!

Hope all goes well with for your school year! Good luck with the names! I know I'd have a hard time with that!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I thought of you today;----I used to hate the first week of school until my body adjusted to the new schedule. A touch of Fall here too, very mild today, air off and windows/deck door thrown wide open!
