The other night I taught an "Intro to Calligraphy" class to a group of adults at a local center.
This was the intro and guide sheet:
After practicing the alphabet, each participant addressed an envelope and printed on a bookmark. This skill takes lots of practice but this group did an excellent job in 90 minutes!

We used felt tip markers, which I find easier and neater than pen and ink:
