Cranberry Vodka is perfect for Cosmos, martinis, or mixed with soda, lemon-lime or tonic water. It takes only a few minutes to make and a week in storage for full flavor.
Ingredients for 8 oz:
- 1 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 cup vodka
- Rind from one small orange
- Chop half of the cranberries in half or quarters. Place chopped and whole cranberries in a16 oz jar and pour vodka over cranberries. Add orange rind and close lid.
- Shake and store in a dark place for one week, shaking daily.
- Strain vodka over a pitcher with a cheesecloth lined strainer or sieve.
- Pour strained vodka into an 8 oz bottle with a tight lid.
Cranberry Creamsicle Cocktail: Add 2 ounces of cranberry vodka and 3 tablespoons of half and half to a shaker with ice. Shake for 15-30 seconds. Pour into a chilled glass and top with whipped cream. Serve with a straw.
Cosmopolitan: Mix 1.5 ounces cranberry cranberry vodka, 0.75 ounce Cointreau (an orange liqueur; triple sec can be substituted) and 0.75 ounce fresh lime juice in a shaker and pour into a martini glass, garnish with a lime slice.
