Tales of the Traveling Tote #36

The Tales of the Traveling Tote is a series of adventures that share where our Mackenzie Childs tote bags have taken us.  Four times a year a group of 10 bloggers each write a connected post about the places we have been. We also offer a fabulous MacKenzie-Childs giveaway on one of the 10 posts each quarter.  We have built incredible friendships through our blogs and we hope you enjoy our tales as much as we do!  To read about how it all began, go HERE

Here is what I have been up to all summer:

JULY

We had a celebration party at Green Lakes State Park:

The water is truly that color!

The MacFriendzies gathered at MacKenzie-Childs for the Barn Sale and we partied before the store opened:

AUGUST

At the beginning of August I flew to Florida for a week to surprise my aunt for her 75th birthday (bottom left photo).  I also met up with an old friend who I hadn't seen in quite a few years (top left) and also met friends for lunch who we reconnected with recently in Jamaica and W Virginia (bottom center).  Early one morning the waves were rolling in at the Juno Beach pier!

I also stopped at Riviera Beach on a HOT, HOT day, where the sand was over 106° and the ocean water was over 90°.  The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a sea turtle research, rehabilitation, education and conservation center.

**********

A few days after returning home we drove to Ohio to see this 'little guy' head off to Kindergarten:

....and this 'handsome fella' began his first year of high school and JV soccer - #38!

They won their first game 4-0 and the second game 6-2,                                                       with Carter scoring his first HS goal!!!

We spent a day at the Columbus Zoo:

************

The New York State Fair has always signified the end of summer and going back to school for the kids.  We haven't been in a few years and we decided to go for a few hours to see Herman's Hermits on stage!  Peter Noone was fabulous and we enjoyed the concert!

It's been a busy summer and time flies by so quickly!  Our next post will be on December 1st!

I hope you will stop by Purple Chocolat Home and leave a comment to be entered for a chance to win this MacKenzie-Childs tote bag!

  2. Fun summer Patti, filled with family and friends, that is the best! I can't believe Herman's Hermits are still around, that is a real blast from the past! Your tote collection is impressive, I just got one of those light weight bag style totes, similar to the one we're giving away this time, and I just love it! Happy September and I hope your fall is filled with more fun adventures!

  3. You have had a busy summer! It has been hot here in the South this summer, especially during August. I'm sure the The Loggerhead Marinelife Center was worth the visit even in the heat. Your grands are growing up! I hope they have a great 2023-24 school year! I really like your collection of Courtly Check bags. I need to get on it and find a few pieces for our travels! :D Thanks for being our fearless leader. BTW I had no idea the Barn Sale was live this year! It's fun seeing you with your MacFriendzies ;P Happy fall!

  4. Patti, I know you've enjoyed your very busy summer! Spending time with family and friends is the best. Great pics of your MacFriendzies at the barn sale pre party and the beach pics. Your family is certainly growing, I think we have a grand about the same age and they are all so cute. Wow, Herman's Hermits. That's a real blast from the past!
    Happy September Patti.......

  9. Wow you have been all over this summer! What a beautiful shot of you at the Green Lakes State Park. That color is just spectacular. I remember Herman's Hermits - how fun to be able to see them. You always have so many wonderful expeditions - a true Go Go Girl!

  10. Patti, I can hardly keep up with your travels on FB, and it was nice to see the recap here. When you wrote W Virginia, did that mean western Virginia or my state?! That sweet photo of Callen (sp?) getting on the bus is a tear jerker! And way to go Carter, scoring a goal already as a 9th grader! I loved the videos of Peter Noone you posted. We both agree he still has a great voice! Happy September, Patti, and happy trails, happy tales!
