A Galentine.Table

I am joining Rita @ Panoply for a Valentine Table Setting Hop!
There are links at the bottom of this post, so hop around for some inspiration!

This is where I began....

...for my Galentine Table!

I decided to set the Dining Room with lots of happy colors:

I began my setting with a stack of dishes, vinyl placemats (they look like actual lace, don't they?), 4 enamel coasters and flatware from Pottery Barn:

The setting is simple and perfect for a girlfriend lunch or Galentine celebration!

The napkins are are from MacKenzie-Childs and have a black and white beaded trim along the edge.  They are pulled through leaf napkin rings to form a "flower".

I made these napkin rings in 2015 and use them often, directions can be found HERE

Each setting has a stack of MacKenzie-Childs majolica dishes, the larger dinner dishes have a fluted edge and the salad plates have flat edges.

This pattern is called Stoke Gabriel, one of my favorites, "named for the home of Rose Cottage in England where Victoria MacKenzie-Childs once lived".

This next pattern is called King Ferry (the town where original owners, Victoria and Richard lived):

A rim of sweet tulips is perfect for spring:

The King Ferry pattern “is a grid of fields and flowers
and sky neighboring the village of Aurora, NY. “

This is the Keukenhoff pattern....

...This pattern is named for “gardens that fill the space beyond the spiral paths, with dots of Dutch flowers everywhere.”

...such a happy design:

The Madison pattern is another favorite....

....cheery colors

The Madison pattern is for the “Indiana, smokestack,
riverboat, 4H, farm town on the Mason-Dixon line where Victoria finished growing up with Southern belles and pet pigs.”

My hand painted candlesticks hold Pottery Barn battery operated flickering candles as a simple centerpiece:

  1. Patti, this is a wonderful post, full of beautiful Made in Aurora dishes (my absolute favorite) and fun facts about each pattern. My collection began all those years ago with the fluted dinner plates, each in a different pattern. How fun it is to set a table with these colorful, special ceramics. Your attention to detail with the lace placemats, rose kissed napkins, and your own hand painted candle sticks makes this a welcome setting for all. It's great to be a part of this hop with you. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. Patti as always I admire your MC collection and your plate settings are all full of happy and I love the interesting backgrounds of each. I really like the lace placemats as they remind me of my mother and all the hours she spent crocheting. (I miss her so much and when I see little reminders it just makes the memories all the sweeter) Your hand painted candlesticks are lovely and how talented you are. I hope to get my IT issues worked out and be able to join you next hop. Happy Valentines Day

  8. I. Love. This!!! Your tablescape is so cute, and I love the napkin flowers on your plate stacks. I need to go back and look at your napkin ring tutorial: Thanks for posting the link! I like your fluted dinner plates. I think the dinner plates are prettier fluted because they make very nice chargers. All of ours are flat (all of our plates) but we have fluted bowls. I like your descriptions of the patterns, too. I wish a few of the old patterns would come back!!!
The candlesticks with the French-wired ribbon are so AH-dorable! You painted them, didn't you? I love them! They match the M-C plates very well.
    Happy Valentine's!
    XO,

This would be an absolutely fun table to sit around and have fun with my galentines! Very pretty, Patti, and the candlelight on your pillars is very nice. The rose formed with the napkin is very creative, love it. Thanks so much for being part of this group of stylists!❣️

  17. Patti, I am thrilled to see all of these lovely patterns and how you creatively used them in such a gorgeous tablescape. The lace placemats really have me fooled. I would never have thought something this elegant is vinyl. It really sets the stage for the playful and whimsical dinnerware. I had a difficult time picking my favorite. I swoon over their fluted edges. So very unique. Perfect for any occasion, but really makes a lovely romantic statement for Valentine's Day. So sweet and inviting.
