If you are not from Central NY, you probably haven't tasted Spicy Hot Tomato Oil.
The Pastabilities website describes it this way:
Created by Pastabilities® Restaurant of Syracuse, New York, Pasta’s Daily Spicy Hot Tomato Oil® has become not only their top selling menu item but a favorite take home sauce within the region of Central New York. A “put-on-anything” sauce with just a little heat, mellowed by a sweet tomato finish. It's called Pasta's Daily Spicy Hot Tomato Oil® because of the pure olive oil they use in the base. Toss it on pasta, drag your bread through it, or spoon it over eggs in the morning.
It is spicy - so if you don't like anything spicy, this is not for you!
Wegman's now has their own Tomato Oil and it's also delish!
My favorite way to serve Tomato Oil is simply as a dip:
Serve it in this:
Other ways I have used Hot Tomato Oil:
Add a spoonful into your bowl of soup
Add a little to your favorite sauce to spice it up
Add a teaspoon into your Bloody Mary
Drizzle over baked chicken or pork
Some have even made it from scratch:
Sounds delish. xoxo Kris
