Growing up we called these 'Candied Pears' and Mom made them every Christmas. They are so easy, very tasty and look so pretty on beds of lettuce on a platter at this time of year!
All you need is 2 cans of pears and 2 oz of red cinnamon candies. Drain the juice from 2 cans of pears into a sauce pan, add candies and heat until candies are dissolved. Place pears in a bowl or plastic container, pour red juice over them and let them sit overnight (stir to make sure all are covered). Serve on a bed of lettuce:
