A Thanksgiving Table for Two

   Just theTwo of Us

This table setting is a simple one for the two of us:

I decided against placemats or tablecloth as the rich colors of my dishes looked so pretty against the wooden table top:

The cute turkey plates are from Williams Sonoma, the checked fluted edge dishes are from Mackenzie-Childs and the leopard dishes are from Hobby Lobby:

The flatware is also from MacKenzie-Childs.  I find it important to use knife rests when there is no placemat or tablecloth:

We will have a traditional Turkey dinner with all the fixings, mashed potatoes, squash, carrots, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy!

A simple ceramic pumpkin sits on top of dessert plates in the center of the table:

John loves pie, so that will certainly be one of the desserts!

I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you have a lot to be thankful for this year - we certainly do!

UPDATE:
Pack the dishes away, we are going to meet the new baby on Thanksgiving Day and will bring dinner to them!!!

  1. That's a very handsome table setting, Patti. I like knife rests - a mostly forgotten table accessory. Your newest grandson is precious!

  3. Aw! What a cute little blessing just in time for Thanksgiving! Congratulations, Patti! Your table is pretty, and I think the bare wood is nice with your plates.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. I like the walk on the wild side! The turkey looks right at home with the leopard. It's an elegant setting for two, never mind that it will be post-poned a bit! Congratulations
