The Tales of the Traveling Tote #17

The Tales of the Traveling Tote is a series of adventures that share where our Mackenzie Childs tote bags have taken us.  Four times a year a group of bloggers each write a connected post about the places we have been. We have built incredible friendships through our blogs and we hope you enjoy our tales as much as we do!

It has been a quiet fall here in Central NY, so here is a quick recap of what my Traveling Totes and I have been up to:

(September)
I always enjoy a trip to the Pumpkin Patch and long walks to enjoy the foliage along Oneida Lake:

(October)
The fall festival at MacKenzie- Childs in Aurora is always a fun and exciting time.  The farmhouse is always decorating in warm autumn colors....

....and apple picking at Beak and Skiff Farm is a yearly tradition:

...a quick trip to NYC is one of my favorite fall activities...

...and I spent few days in the Saratoga region.

(november)
We "kicked off" the holiday season with all of our favorite traditional events:
We had an early snowfall....about 12" snow!  I attended "That Chocolate Event", a shopping event in Baldwinsville, where each shop offers chocolate treats and drinks to kick off the holiday shopping season!  Hafner's Farmers Market and Garden Center has all their decorated Christmas trees on display - it's a winter wonderland!  And the "Lights on the Lake" on Onondaga Lake is an exciting "drive thru" extravaganza of lit displays and is  exciting as always!

Thanksgiving was a great day with 4 generations in our family:

November ended with the making of Kissing Balls with girlfriends.  My tote was filled with ribbons, holiday picks, pinecones and berries to add to my greens!

This fall was full of fun, family and yearly traditions!

  2. Patti, as always, you soak in every bit of life and living, so matter where you go, and you sure spread the love with your cadre of totes taken along the way. I absolutely love how you took the one tote and had it made into a crossbody - so functional! Your family Thanksgiving was fabulous, though I'm sure it kicked your butt with so many guests and all the prep you did. You are the consummate party planner and decorating maven! Martha's got nothing on you.

  3. 4 generations is indeed special Patti, and you and your tote family are never idle! Apple picking to kick off fall must be so much fun, and does't Miss Kenzie look gorgeous surrounded by pumpkins! The Chocolate Event sounds like a must do :) Making Kissing Balls with friends must be a blast, I wish you'd post a tutorial on how to make them, they are beautiful! Thank you so much for being such a fabulous leader and inspiration for our Traveling Tote group!

I love seeing your beautiful family, those darling daughters, precious grandsons, and your beautiful mom. I'm glad she is up and about. I know she appreciates all your care and attention.
Upstate NY is the place to be for fun. Apple picking, MKC shopping, a getaway to NYC, Chocolate, . . . you have me a tad envious! Where is the SJP tile floor? Those are my maiden initials. 😍
Thanks for taking us along on all the adventures with your totes. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  9. Isn't it amazing how we never tire of black and white checks?! I love the format of your travels this quarter. I'm learning each time that I visit one of the TTT group. Note to self: Learn to create pictorial collages! If you need someone to ride with you to the Chocolate Festival, you should know that chocolate is one of my four major food groups! Thanks for organizing us. At times it must be like taking cats for a walk on leashes. Thanks for taking us along on your journeys. Cherry Kay
