The Tales of the Traveling Tote is a series of adventures that share where our Mackenzie Childs tote bags have taken us. Four times a year a group of bloggers each write a connected post about the places we have been. We have built incredible friendships through our blogs and we hope you enjoy our tales as much as we do!

Meet Miss Kenzie:
In September, we had quite a few days of 80' weather, so we spent a weekend in the Lake Placid area, which is exactly a 4 hour drive from our home.
The Gondola ride up to the top of Little Whiteface is the fastest gondola trip in in North America and it has the highest vertical drop in the east!
Below, top right, is Lake Placid Lake:
The Ausable River runs along the roadside and even thought the foliage was not vibrant this season, we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery!
Miss Kenzie enjoyed a trip to the Pumpkin Patch....
...as well as our yearly trek to Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard:
In late October the Traveling Tote bloggers met in NYC....
and you can read about that memorable weekend here or view the video here...
...and I enjoyed some shopping and champagne at Henri Bendel:
Herald Square is one of my favorite places to sit and people-watch:
After a very warm October, November arrived with lots of rain and cooler weather and even some snow!
Mom and I saw the Lion King - great show!
...so now it is time for her to be stuffed with blankets by the fireplace and to settle in for a long, cold, snowy winter:

A few days later Mom wanted to go to Mackenzie-Childs, about an hour away, so we spent the day in Aurora. Miss Kenzie will never pass up the opportunity to return to the "Motherland":

At the end of November we went to Ohio for a baby shower for my daughter (expecting grandson #2), To Rochester to spend Thanksgiving with family and I also hosted an engagement party for my other daughter in Rochester, Miss Kenzie spent a lot of time stuffed in the back seat of the car....
...and filled with supplies...

It looks like an awful fun three months, Patti! Great idea to put blankets in Miss Kenzie during the winter months. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou are always on the go, and it sure was fun going back and reading through your journeys. The Lake Placid trip already has me wishing for better weather, and winter hasn't even begun. Those are gorgeous pictures! Having the tote filled with a throw or two, along with a book or magazine sounds perfect for winter. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou are constantly on the go Patti, and Miss Kenzie looks especially beautiful sporting her MKC roses! I truly loved all the NYC photos and hearing about the fun, and Susan's photo in the phone booth is just wonderful! Living so close to "the Motherland" must be an awful temptation! Miss Kenzie also looks quite cozy near your hearth, surrounded by her MKC "cousins!" Thank you so much for leading us all on this Merry journey of friendship, travels and tote adventures!

Patti, such amazing views from your trip to Lake Placid. How nice it's only a four hour drive away. Love all your recent adventures and a very special one you enjoyed not so long ago with the engagement. Looks like Miss Kenzie is all set to settle in for a long winter's night! Have a wonderful weekend..........
ReplyDeletePatti, Miss Merri Mac and I would have a difficult time keeping up with you. You cover a lot of territory! I think living in upstate NY must be lovely with all the beautiful sights within easy travel distance. Texas, not so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm still savoring the memory of the fun times we shared in NYC. You have organized the TT group from the beginning and done an exceptional job. Thank you! I feel so fortunate to have met you and the other girls. What a fun, talented, and interesting group of women.
Thanks for showing me interesting new places in NY. I love knowing about new things and have new experiences.
Merry, Merry to you and your family. Exciting year ahead for you with a new grandson and a new son-in-law. Congratulations!
PS. Forgot to say, I adore the cute photo of Susan in England. Classic with the red telephone booth. That would make a great Christmas card!

We did have a ball in NYC. It's great how you shared some of your favorite places. I wonder where you will visit next. Enjoy this time of year Patti. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Patti. Have a wonderful Christmas season❤
ReplyDeleteI loved looking at your travels with your MC tote Miss Kenzie! I have never been to Lake Placid and it looks so beautiful. I can't believe how gorgeous it is. I bet it's really nice when the leaves change colors. What a fun idea for your group of bloggers and your travels with your bags. I look forward to the next one. I would love to be entered into your giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI love apples, and I enjoy visiting orchards and farms. Down here we visit peach and pecan orchards!
I must ask: What was your favorite part of the NYC trip? It looks like y'all were having fun everywhere you went!
xo,
RJ
Lots of exciting travel and companionship for the toters. Easy to grap, go and identify as the chic bag lady accessory item. Lynn
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all had so much fun! I love the traveling tote stories! What a neat way to spend time together!
ReplyDeletePatti, without you, this group would not have happened! What a great and fun idea to travel with our totes! You certainly had a wonderful fall, and the icing on the cake was our wonderful New York City trip. A trip Joe and I will NEVER forget! Merry December to you and Miss Kenzie, and many more Happy Travels!
ReplyDeleteI love Miss Kenzie all snuggled up next to the fireplace! Hubby was just saying how he loves soft and cuddly blankets during the winter. I think Miss Madi K may have to step it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for inviting me into your group so warmly! I think you ladies are just the funnest and so glad to be a part of this. What wonderful places Miss Kenzie got to go, especially to the Motherland! I have to laugh at one of my favorite photos - stuffed into the back of the car!!! That is so darling.
I love reading about the traveling tote adventures! She is more traveled than I am for sure!
ReplyDeleteI can only dream. I love my memory of Sarah’s visit here for a Quimper auction several years ago. I’m thrilled that you all got to share time together in wonderful NYC. Thanks for taking us along on your journeys. CherryKay
ReplyDeleteHi Patti, I've only been on that gondola in the winter, long ago, and the view from the top was white and sparkly with temps below zero. So cold! I must return to see the foliage. Maybe our Tribe can meet there and ride the gondola and the bobsled together! You have such an exciting year ahead--a new baby and a wedding!! I really enjoyed our day together in NYC and I'm looking forward to the next meeting of the Tribe. But I hope you are mistaken about the long, cold, snowy winter ahead! A dusting on Christmas Eve and Day, followed by a bit of snowflake refreshment now and then will be just enough for me! Linda
ReplyDeleteDebbie's post on your Traveling Tote gals led me here! What fun you have! I've been a cyber friend of Debbie for over 10 years, I believe, and I follow checkersox on Instagram too :) I'm another MC lover and that MC holiday bowl is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post and such lovely pictures of you and Miss Kenzie's travels. I'm looking forward to sharing in the fun with my tote. It will arrive in a week. I was most fortunate to find a brand new one on Ebay. Have a great week!
