A few weeks ago I shared with you my love of watercolor art (here).
I am also drawn to books with beautiful art work, especially watercolor...and if they have recipes, even more so.
This is an old sweet book (2000), but can still be found on Amazon...
Shelley Reeves Smith is another watercolorist that I am drawn to...
...and this book shares heartfelt sentiments about a home...
...I am anxiously awaiting Heart and Soul from Amazon...
...to add to my collection of cookbooks (2007) she also illustrated...
...the recipes are delicious...
...and my favorite is this Chocolate Chip Banana Bread recipe...
...it also makes delicious muffins...
...that I think I could actually live on...
...and the Garlic Smashed Potatoes are to die for...
...and this is an appetizing, light Citrus Vinaigrette for a spring salad - but I add some fresh basil!
Smith was a blogger, but sadly, hasn't posted in 4 years.
So, as I sit with my cup of tea, browsing through this book, I am waiting anxiously for the mailman to deliver the next one....
Do you have a favorite artist - or cookbook?
Thanks for stopping by! |
I have a friend who happens to have a birthday this month that would love one of those cookbooks. Thanks for the recommendation. Have a great week, Patti.
ReplyDeleteNice, Patti. Love the artwork, and all of those recipes you showed look terrific. Oh, and those pans! ♥
ReplyDeletePatti, the artwork in these books reminds me of the work of our sweet friend, Susan Branch. Yes, I may not cook much anymore, but I still love to read and enjoy beautiful cookbooks like these. Hope the postman delivers your new book soon. Have a great week, and welcome home!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely books Patti. I love your bakeware and serving pieces, so sweet. Those muffins would make a special weekend breakfast here. Enjoy the new book when it arrives.........
ReplyDeleteI love to find books like that where every page is as good as the last. My favorite cookbooks, where every recipe is incredible, are local Junior League cookbooks but available online....Applehood and Motherpie and For Goodness Taste. Michelle Palmer, a sweet friend, is a wonderful watercolorist that does calendars.
ReplyDeleteThese books are adorable Pattie, I love her illustration style! The recipes sound good too, I have a crop of fresh basil on hand, salad dressing it is!
