The Traveling Tote #7

At the end of February,  John and I,  along with my totes, headed south.  We left the snow behind for the sand!

A few days were spent with relatives in North Carolina where we had lunch and a tour of the Charlotte Speedway - how could I pass up this cute Nascar Teddy Bear?

And then it was off to Myrtle Beach where our room was on the 17th floor!!  The view was lovely!

My hand painted cell phone cover:              The Hammock Shops :         The Sea Captains for dinner:

The weather improved once we returned to NY and it was time to catch up with old friends.

Lunch at Olives Eatery In Baldwinsville with Kathy, where the decor matched my Tote!...

...A trip to Aurora to MacKenzie-Childs with Maureen...

...and how could I pass up a few treasures from M-C?

In March our family celebrated PIRISH - Polish St Patty's Day - a special holiday created by the next generation!

We spent Easter in Ohio with this cute little guy:

I spent a day antiquing and shopping in Delaware, Ohio:

And back in Syracuse, NY I had a lucky find at a local antique store:

In May,  "Taylor" and I bought a new car, and named it "Lily":

And shortly after I went to Cape Cod to take care of a friend who had surgery.  The week was grey and rainy, but we made a few treks to the beach in Sandwich and Falmouth:

East Sandwich Beach:

Falmouth with Martha's Vineyard in the distance:

The Sandwich boardwalk:

It has been a busy 3 months and we have lots plan for the summer!!

And speaking of Rita, The Traveling Tote group of women had a secret swap and I received lovely gifts from her!!

Some local reading  from WV, a lovely green Blenko water pitcher, bear claws for summer salads and a soap wrapped in felted wool....

.....I was certainly spoiled in this swap, and just adore the Blenko glassware, which is made in WV:

And it makes for a prefect vase, too:

These have already been used a few times, another made in WV treasure!

One of the best parts of participating in this Traveling Tote series is enjoying the friends I have made.  It's also fun to see where the totes have traveled to, learning about the special places throughout the US and abroad and keeping connected through our love of MacKenzie-Childs products!

  1. Hi Patti! What a fun post! My first question... does MC have iphone cases? I need to check it out!! Beautiful vase and I have those salad tossers and I love them. I love the idea of PIRISH - such a cute idea. Enjoy your week, Patti!

  2. Patti, Someday we are going to run into each other on the Cape! We will recognize each other by our totes. Don't you just love the smaller one for everyday use? A new car is always a good reason to celebrate, and so is time spent with your special little guy. My mother also used to celebrate a Polish day in March--St. Joseph's Day on March 19th! It looks like you had a great deal of fun in the sun and sand. I think we are both looking forward to more beach days coming up! Linda

  3. Patti, you, among several other of our tribe, really made the best of travels this past quarter! Love that NASCAR teddy bear, lol, and that restaurant decor (great minds think alike, right??). Looks like your shopping spree at MC was a success, as was that vintage find!
Thanks so much for wrangling the tribe, keeping us on track, and helping us connect better with each adventure. I'm happy you're enjoying your package. And thank you for the birthday shout out. :)

  4. Hi Patti, You've been a busy traveling girl since our last post. How cute is the the little bear from your Nascar visit, just perfect for keeping your totes company. You are a lucky girl being so close to MC, if I were that close I'm afraid I would become their stalker. I think these bags are best loved going to the beach. They always are so photogenic with sand between the straps:)
Enjoy your summer and Miss Courtney Childs sends regards to Miss Kenzie and Miss Taylor.

  5. Patti, your new car and a wonderful trip! Retirement is treating you well, as it should! It's amusing to see Miss Kenzie in all that snow and then on the sunny beach. Miss Merri Mac doesn't know what snow is! I love that you share your trips to the McK-C farm. Such a beautiful place and of course filled with a lot of my favorite things.. I've got to add a smaller version of Mis MM to my wardrobe. You have inspired me!

  6. If only that tote could talk! LOL! I believe you are having more fun than the law allows...and I'm loving it! Thanks for taking us along on your travels.;-)

  7. Patti, I'm sure you are loving your new car! You need reliable transportation to tote Miss Kenzie and Miss Taylor around ;o) Thank you again for organizing our wonderful group and have a wonderful summer!

P.S. Xavier is making his first trip to the Cape this summer! He will be the cutest dude on the beach under the umbrella. LOL

  8. You and your totes have been so busy, Patti! I love your painted cell phone cover, new car! You received such fun gifts from Rita. I look forward to more adventures with the traveling totes.

  9. I love that you added a secret swap with your tote mates for this adventure Patti, it's been such fun to see what everyone got! You and your totes have done a lot of traveling this spring! Enjoy your travels this summer!
