Cherry Chocolate Chip Cups

I made this dessert for Super Bowl Sunday.  I actually altered the recipe quite a bit and the end result was Just Delicious"

I bought a jar of cherries and took out 18 cherries to dry, set aside:

I took chocolate chip cookie dough and pressed it into 18 small muffin tins, baking them for 10 minutes:

it was tricky taking them out of the pans, but even of they stick or break a bit, 

They were repaired with a dollop of melted chocolate:

The best part is the filling:

Chop up the remaining cherries.

Add: 2 T cream cheese, 1/2 c cool whip, 1/4 cup powdered sugar  and 1/8 t cherry extract and mix well.

Pipe it into the cookie cups:

Dip the cherries in a little melted chocolate and place on top - chill.

These did not last long on the dessert table on Super Bowl Sunday!
