Watching these teens take surfing lessons on Hutchinson Island, Florida brought back memories of me taking surfing lessons (many years ago) at Horseneck Beach, Mass.
I wanted to be Gidget! I wanted Moon Doggie to save me from drowning!
None of it happened!

Hi! When I was in high school (and for many years afterwards), I looked so much like Sally Field - kids in school would come up to me and call me Gidget. Even many years later - in my mid 30s, the boxer Rocky Graziano came up to me in a bar and called me Sally!
ReplyDeleteI'm blonde now...so i don't resemble her as much (and I think she's had some plastic surgery)...but I still remember those days when I was called Gidget. I just had to click and read this post when I saw it on your sidebar!!
