What do you eat for lunch?

I am not a "sandwich" girl .
I prefer "salads".
Especially if someone will make it for me.
But I usually end up having to make it myself.
What is your favorite lunch?

China Cabinet Update

I decided not to paint the china cabinet I bought a few weeks ago:
But, I couldn't just let it go without a personal touch - so I added some harlequin paper to the inside back:
Now I hate to fill it up and cover up this great pattern!

Hey, what happened to the beautiful weather? It has been cold and dreary here in NY and the weather report said we may have some snow flurries tomorrow!!
I want the warm weather to return - I need some sun and warmth!

I NEVER owned a china cabinet until today!

I was driving down a main road in No Syracuse, passing a swap shop and this BEAUTY was on the side walk:
After a little haggling with the "swap shop boys", I paid only $50.00 for this Berkey and Gay piece from the 1930's. I polished it up, removed some dirt and dust and it was ready for my home:
It is in excellent condition and only I wish I knew its history.
Who owned it? Who kept such good care of it? What did it store? Why didn't a family member want it? Why was I so lucky?
So, now I have a place to store my grandmother's depression pieces, mother's china and my milk glass collection.

Signs of Spring

I just put away all of the St Patty's Day decorations and pulled out a few bunnies and eggs:
I feel as if time is flying by so quickly!
And the weather in central NY has been beautiful and that means that "spring has sprung"!
The daffodils and crocus bloomed and the tulips and hyacinths are popping up - all signs of good things to come!

I am not a robot...

Just wondering....Has anyone noticed as of late that many more bloggers have turned on their word verification?

Does anyone know why? Are people leaving nasty comments? Do bloggers realize how annoying this is, and how time consuming it is (because I never seem to get it "right" the first time)? I notice that some bloggers have posted "I will not comment on blogs with active word verification". Do they know it is turned on? Have they tried to leave a comment on their own posts?

Just wondering...

St Patrick's Day Luncheon

My table is set for an early St Pat's luncheon of salad and corned beef sandwiches:
I have great memories of past St Patrick's Days......
...the parade in Boston when I was in high school....
....the parade in New York City when I was in college....
and most recently, the festivities at Coleman's Irish Pub in Syracuse
and of course, corned beef cooking all day long in the crock pot!
How do you spend St Patrick's Day?
