I usually don't want the latest in kitchen gadgets, but this year I told my husband I wanted a cake pop maker:
It's a small piece of equipment and I LOVE IT!
I mixed up a small cake mix to try it out:
And they came out PERFECT the first time:
And I even took this a step further.....
and decided to make a polka dot cake. I put the cake balls into cake batter:
During the baking, I pushed some deeper into the pan, so that the polka dots would be at different levels:
and it turned out well:Next time I want to try a chocolate cake with white balls!
And it was served on really cute depression glass cake plates that I bought at the flea market last week for only $2.00!

Oh now I want a cake pop maker! I just went to an open house and she had a platter of cake pops for the kids. So adorable! Love the dish too! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I love the polka dot cake - What a clever idea! I can see the cake pop maker getting lots of use.
ReplyDeleteI saw that little machine and I wondered if it worked. I'm glad to see that it does. I love the idea of the polka dot cake. Chocolate and white would be great or you could color white mix any colors you wanted...green dots in a pink/red cake or yellow dots in a white cake. The possiblities are endless!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea. My kids would love it. I am a new follower visiting from Hope Studios. Vicky from Mess For Less
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea! I should have made that to go with my polka dot table!
ReplyDeleteI found your link at Coastal Charm and I bet this will be the next big thing on Pinterest...especially if you do other colors too! So cute for a little girl's birthday or a baby shower!
