We are still waiting for the arrival of:
This is a clever photo art wallhanging Sara made for a Carter's bedroom. Take photos around your town of letters, or things that resemble letters. The "c" is from a playground, the "a" from a store sign, the "r"s are obviously from a railroad crossing, the "t" is a telephone pole and the "e" is a fence. This hangs above the crib.

I don't miss the old house....probably because I am so in awe of this new place. I expect that my last trip over to that house will sadden me with a walk down Memory Lane...a 30 year walk!!

Pandora has finally come out from under the bed and realizes that this IS home...and my hubby has begun to organize the garage ( I am hoping he builds a Card Room/Exercise area/Man Cave/"whatever you call it" in the cellar - I need a place to send him when he gets on my nerves....Like right now:
He: What are you doing?
She: Nothing
He: Well, you must be doing something
She: Working on the computer
He: E-mailing?
She: Nope
He: Then what?
She: Not much, because I have to keep answering you!!!
and it goes on and on....so he needs a special place for me to send him and I need to "plant the seed" now so he can think it was his own idea)

School ends this week and I am off to Ohio to await the arrival of our grandson. That reminds me of the reason I began blogging...it was to have a place to keep photos of him....I started early so that I would be somewhat experienced by the time he arrived. I am ready....BUT IS HE?

We've moved in...

Here are a few progressive photos of the living room...it's a slow process, but I am enjoying every moment. I am on the hunt for a new rug to be placed under the coffee table. Finally out of the old house and waiting to pass the keys on to the new owners.

Still moving....

We have too much stuff....really....We have been moving for 5 days and still have a few more loads. Suggestion: always hire movers!! We should have, but I have a stubborn husband who said, "no, it will be easy, and we can take our time". Good thing we haven't closed on the old house and that we do have some time. So for the last 5 days we have had no phone, internet nor TV (daughter says we have been living the Amish lifestyle - and she didn't enjoy it at all!) So, in a few days I will be posting a some photos - the home is lovely and I am enjoying every moment. Stay tuned...

A long time coming...

We are closing on our new home on Thursday. No more sleepless nights decorating in my mind!
Now the fun begins.....

PS Ray....wouldn't you have called the cops, too?

Drive Bys

We should be "closing" on our new home this week. That will leave us at least 2 weeks to move out until the new owners move into the "old" house. They have been driving by the "old" house, slowly, and must be as excited to move in as we are to move out! The next few weeks will be utter chaos - and I am sure I will not be able to find anything - but it will all be worth it....stay tuned...

ALLEGEDLY....

My son-in-law, Ray, has been reading my blog lately and calls each night to make some snide, silly or sarcastic comment about the time of day I post... OR what I post... OR why I post...and so on. So this is a post to amuse myself and to entertain Ray. Ray is an ALLEGED lawyer, and anyday he will become and ALLEGED father (which will make me a grandmother for ALLEGEDLY the first time!!). He ALLEGEDLY works very hard everyday, but finds the time to read this blog. He enjoys calling me during my ALLEGEDLY favorite shows to amuse me with his "question of the day" or the "joke of the day" always ending with "one more thing...it will only take a minute..."...so, this is for you , Ray, and only you...ALLEGEDLY!!

Did I mention that Ray is a lawyer, ALLEGEDLY ? Here he is practicing for fatherhood:

MacKenzie-Childs

How can you not love this bowl by MacKenzie-Childs ? I would like to have a whole set, but the lottery has not made me a winner yet. The original designers of the Courtly Check pattern were Richard and Victoria, who, I have heard, live on a ferry on the Hudson River. How exciting! Their daughter lives on the family land and runs the B&B and the Home Again gift shop in King Ferry, NY on Cayuga Lake. I just love to visit the this area, spending hours at the MacKenzie-Childs store, touring the farm house and having lunch at the Pumpkin Hill Bistro. To me it is the perfect day - especially if I have some extra money to purchase another piece in the Courtly Check pattern!
