The Cosmopolitan, a classic and vibrant pink cocktail, is made with citrus vodka, orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec), cranberry juice, and fresh lime juice. It gained significant popularity in the 1990s, partly due to its frequent appearance on the TV show Sex and the City.
I made "Mini Cosmos" by doubling the recipe (below) in a cocktail shaker, dividing it between 4 mini martini glasses and garnishing them with lime:
I tied pink curling ribbon on the stem of each glass to add a little cheer!
- 1.5 ounces citrus-flavored vodka (Absolut Citron is a classic choice)
- 0.75 ounce Cointreau (an orange liqueur; triple sec can be substituted)
- 0.75 ounce fresh lime juice
- 0.5 ounce cranberry juice cocktail (use sweetened; unsweetened is very tart)
- Garnish: Lime wedge
