Being Grateful...

Some say being thankful is a feeling, being grateful is an action.

Are you grateful?

What are you grateful for?

Each day I make a mental list of what I am grateful for - there are always a few things to add to the prior list!

Grateful is showing an appreciation of kindness.

Studies have linked gratitude with increased satisfaction, motivation, and energy; better sleep and health; and reduced stress and sadness.

Grateful people are much more engaged with their environment, leading to greater personal growth and self-acceptance, and stronger feelings of purpose, meaning, and specialness. (Psychology Today)

So find reasons to be grateful!

  1. I have learned gratitude throughout my life, but never really "felt" it for lack of a better word, until I started getting older. Does that make any sense? I guess what I'm trying to say is we appreciate having gratitude more as we get older.

  3. Gratitude is one of the best feelings and words ever. Every night before I fall asleep I list five things -- they may be big (another day of health in an unhealthy world) or small (the perfect parking place on a busy day!), they may be personal as in thanks for a kindness or just big -- a gorgeous day, someone making dinner, a perfect bloom. WIthout it, I wonder --what are we?
