One of my favorite things about summer is having fresh flowers in my house!
I know I can buy them all year, but the availability is so amazing during the summer...
....and I love to add flowers from my yard with those I purchase...
The other day I found these orange flowers growing on the side of the road, beside Queen Anne Lace:
Do you know what they are called?
UPDATE: These are Milkweed !!!
They are so bright and vibrant and I love them, but can't find them anywhere else!
Patti, those look like pants blooms but I can't see the leaves so I'm not certain. Glad you're able to run out & catch some blooms in between the rains! Love those vibrant colors.
ReplyDeleteOne item we consider a staple...all year round. Yet, there is nothing like the bouquet coming from someone's hand grown labor!-Laurel
ReplyDeleteI love your flower paintings Patti!
ReplyDeletePatti, I think those blooms might be milkweed. Monarch butterflies feast on them! I love your pretty watercolor "paintings"! The colors are all gorgeous. You should print these and frame them.
ReplyDeleteLove the flower paintings. So artsy and pretty. So glad you popped in to see me. Made my day. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

ReplyDeleteI don't know what those cute orange flowers are but I think they might be what I saw in a field getting off the expressway! They were everywhere and I wanted to go dig them up!
