I met this family when I had their son as a 7th grade student in the 90's. It has been fun watching the children from this family of 6 grow into adults throughout the years, build their careers and families, and make their parents proud.
Before every holiday season the parents spend weeks and weeks preparing their home for Christmas. They drag hundreds of boxes from their garage into their home to create a display of over 100 trees. This year there were 117 trees throughout their small ranch style home!
Let me give you a quick tour of a house full of themed trees with old and new ornaments, family treasures, and years of collectables....
...a patriotic tree tucked in a corner of vintage books...
...the traditional 9' tree....
...the bear tree...
...there is a memory tree...
....a row of trees in the dining room...
...trees with themes of Barbie dolls, animals...
...so many vintage ornaments...
...wirey trees...
...vintage silver trees with a "color light wheel" and holiday curtains...
...ornaments in vases...
...glass santas...
...flocked trees...
...white trees...
...candy themed tree...
...vintage bells...
...almost 140 pixies....
...hanging from the beams...
...a variety of trees tucked high atop on cabinets...
...4 cardinal trees...
...a collection of carolers...
...a gingerbread tree...
... and a tea cup tree for the kitchen....
...a collection of over 80 holiday salt and pepper shakers and over 75 copper cookie cutters....
...a comfy chair among an amazing site...
Soon, all of the decorations and ornaments will meticulously packed away, the lights will all be removed from the trees, and everything is labeled and packed into the garage, waiting to be pulled out again next fall!
The family has an open house every January to share all the trees with their family and friends. This year they were highlighted in the local newspaper and also on the morning and night news! Their friend framed the newspaper article as a remembrance:
Their home is truly a spectacular holiday display!
How wonderful! They certainly deserve the recognition.
ReplyDeleteJust wow!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! I wonder how long it takes them to put all this out and then to pack it all away. Hope those children are helping. '-) Thanks for sharing, Patti. I enjoy seeing the passion that others have for collecting.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness they certainly turn their home into a Christmas wonderland! I did see some lovely old books that would be fun to peek inside. ♥
ReplyDeleteI hope you and yours had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and are having a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. May we display your header on our new site directory, SiteHoundSniffs.com? As it is now, the site title (linked back to its home page) is listed, and we think displaying the linked header will attract more attention.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet couple and how beautiful each and every tree! I greatly enjoyed the tour Patti.
