I cut out leaves from the outer edge, freehand:
I ended up with this:
I brushed some Gold Metallic Surfacer on each leaf:
and then dipped them into Patina Green Antiquing Solution:
From the leftover tray, I cut an oval oval:
Then I cut a ring:
I glued on the leaves, tied a bow and I have a unique wreath:
Now, this is certainly NOT how I thought it would turn out. I thought the patina would turn the leaves green, rather than speck of black, touches of green and gold, with silver peeking through. I think it needs a smaller hanger and bow. BUT, it was a good shot and I will rethink this after the holidays!

It reminds me of pictures (drawings) I've seen of early Olymmpic laurels. I rather like it.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks pretty! Maybe you could go over the leaves with green paint?

I still like it, although I am partial to silver anyway. Yes, I do plan to make one of the yarn wreaths, with shades of blue to make it a winter wreath rather than a holiday wreath. I am so waiting anxiously for the new year!
