This past week I had a small baby shower/dinner for a young friend of mine. Amy is having a "girl", whom she will name Piper Hannah.
As each guest arrived, I served Frozen "Pregatini" slushies in baby bottles. I used all my M-C checked dishes on the hors d'oeuvres table.
I set the dinner table in shades of pink! I used my Russell Wright dinner dishes and MacKenzie-Childs bowls:
The "place cards" were mini diapers made out of paper napkins:
On the back of each place card was a bit of trivia related to the name Piper, or those born in October: Each guest read aloud their bit of trivia to the mom-to-be!
I used my Lefton tea pot as the centerpiece:
We had pasta, salad and bread for dinner - and wine for all of us, excluding the "mom-to-be"!
And the dessert table had cupcakes in wine glasses with pink and white jelly beans, pink chocolate covered marshmallows and candy:
The Lefton sugar bowl and creamer held the marshmallow pops
My gift for the baby was this vintage book table, repainted in white and pink, with Piper's name on top. I also added a few books to start her "library":
Patti, your party details are darling. Love the name Piper! Fantastic idea to give this baby girl a pretty book case. What a lovely addition to her nursery.......Sarah
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a lovely baby shower, Patti! I love your gift to the baby!
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing! That's one of the neatest baby gifts I've ever seen. How did you apply her name? Did you paint it? Stencil it? Is it vinyl? It's just absolutely beautiful. And the shower was a gorgeous party. I know the mom must have been so thankful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful, amazing friend you are! Everything you did was gorgeous. I love that little teapot and the diaper napkins - ADORABLE! I love the name she picked. So pretty for a little girl.

Just beautiful! This is the way baby showers should be done, small, elegant. This trend of baby showers being 60+ guests feels like more of a cattle call.
