I wanted a few of these cookie jars, but they cost $45.00 ea:
So, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought 2 cookie jars for $3.99 (on sale 2 for 1).
I painted black and white checks on the lids
A few years ago I went to the MacKenzie-Childs Odds and Ends store in Aurora and bought some beads and gold trims for cents. I knew that someday I would "need" them.
So I stacked them and created "handles"
Now I have 2 cookie jars that resemble the M-C originals!

The cookie jars are wonderful. My DIL loves Mackenzie-Childs but the prices make it prohibitive for her to own but a few pieces. Looks like I found a project I can make for her b'day. Thanks for the inspiration!

These look awesome, Patti.
ReplyDeleteI am still looking for beads and gold trim but haven't found any I can afford. I ended up putting white knobs on my glass jars you painted lids for...they look really good but not like they should. :)
