I like milk glass - how can you not like it?
Some pieces bring back memories from my childhood.
I had only one of these dishes, but lucked out last week at GW and found 3 more for .49 ea.
I have a small collection, and...
I don't know how to display it...
...So, for now, some sit in a bookcase in my guest room.
And some are scattered around the room with cheery red flowers.
It's fun to collect something...BUT, I'm afraid I collect too, too many things! What do you collect?

Patti,
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful collection and I just love the flowers! Hope you have a FUN Thursday!
Blessings,
Linda
Now I know what milk glass looks like. I've heard the word but didn't really put it with the glassware. Very pretty. I love white.
ReplyDeleteI really love milk glass & have a tiny collection of it. I like how it looks grouped together.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection of milk glass items. Welcome to Vintage Thingies Thursday! I love glassware of all kinds....Have a great Day and a wonderful VTT!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty. I like milk glass also. I would love to find some of those GW treasures you found.
ReplyDeleteMilk glass has always been a very popular item. All your pieces are very nice. The real stuff is hard to find sometimes. You are lucky to have so many
ReplyDeleteI love milk glass and yours is so pretty. I think my favorite is the last picture, the ruffled edged one..it's just gorgeous. Happy VTT,have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteA p.s. Your blog is so pretty and cheerful..
I can see why over the years MilK Glass continues to be beloved. It looks so pretty all together AND this time of year it looks wonderful with red!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in the love of milk glass! I have a collection of different pieces as well. they can be worked into all kinds of decor.
ReplyDeleteHey Patti!
ReplyDeleteI just love your milk glass collection! I have recently bought a milk glass vase that I just absolutely love! Now I'm looking for more pieces too!
Vintage Thingies Thursday!

Milk glass really can fit in anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI love milk glass! we always had some in the house growing up, i think my mom still does have some somewhere, i should ask her if she does or go through her stuff and find some. I always see it at GW but I never thought abotu picking it up, I have no place for it right now but now im going to be keeping my eyes open more for some cute pieces
ReplyDeletePatti,
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful collection of milk glass. I remember my grandma having a couple of the bubble looking pieces. Great find at GW!
Your last question...what do you collect?? Well I could write a novel to answer that one!
Jane
You have some really lovely milk glass. I too have always loved it.
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed that each week, there is one item that repeats in various posts - - - I think just by chance? WELL - - - this is the SECOND milk glass post I've found so far, so I'm thinking that is THE item that's going to surface and resurface this time!
Patti you have beautiful milk glass! My mom used to collect it and I was able to salvage only one piece- a victorian compote dish.
ReplyDeleteI started collecting it without realising it...
I agree. I love milk glass too. Your collection is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMilk glass brings back memories of my childhood as well. My Grandma Lawhon had many pieces. And yes, I too collect to many things. But someone must take care of it for future generations. (That's what I tell Hubs, anyway!)
ReplyDeleteOooh I love milk glass too! My mom gave me a ton of her's and your right, some pieces definitely bring back memories. I'm surprised how many pieces actually made it so long between my siblings and my mom's 4 grandkids. You know how little hands like to touch everything (yes I'm also talking about myself when I was little!)
ReplyDeleteGreat milk glass collection! I've got several pieces too, my favorite being a pitcher that I use as a vase. That last piece is fabulous, with the little vases inside the bowl! Love those dishes too. I don't remember ever seeing milkglass dishes before. Something to look for next time I go thrifting!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!
Carol
I love the small hobnail vase! I have a few pieces of Milk glass too. It works so well with almost anything!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom used to collect milk glass. It looks especially beautiful to me displayed with those poppies. Thanks for a nice memory.
ReplyDeleteI just love the patterns in your milk glass, and it is always so pristine! Very pretty pieces, and you scored big on those three at 49 cents !
ReplyDeleteI have to confess, up ntil just a few years ago, I thought milk glass was a glass that you drank milk out of. At our house, growing up, we had milk glasses, water glasses and juice glasses. The water glasses were the biggest the milk glasses were medium and the juice glasses were smallest.
ReplyDeleteI think with a big family, this was my moms way of portion control.
Troy
what sweet treasures!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection. The red flowers look especially beautiful in the white vases.
ReplyDeleteMilk glass used to be very collectable and I hope one day it will come back in Antique Favor. Until then, those of us who love can find some real bargins like yours. Of all your pieces, the last picture of the ruffled hobnail footed bowl is my favorite. It might be a Fenton. If it's marked it'll will be a newer piece since the 70's if not it would be older....or not a Fenton. You might look it up. Nice collection...I collect it, too.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't that milk glass really make those red flowers POP!! I love your collection :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
Hi Patty,
ReplyDeleteYes, it's me again. I saw your comment about Scrabble tiles. I have a 1950's Scrabble game that I found at a garage sale last summer for $1.00. It was a complete game, box in good condition....I searched high and low for that game last night to picture for my post and could not find it! It was driving me crazy. After spending way too much time searching I just posted without it. That goes to show you how organized I am!
Once I find it I'm sending it to you....I think someone who has Scrabble tournaments with her daughters and college friends needs to have it. I'll let you know when I uncover it!
Jane
You have a wonderful milk glass collection! I love the fluted rims on several of your pieces and I think the red flowers with the milk glass is just gorgeous!...took my breath away!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved milk glass, even as a child I loved my mom's pieces. I am currently trying to persuade her that she should thin out her collection over at my house... ;)
ReplyDeleteSooo pretty! Those floweres really make it POP!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Thrifty Thursday!

ReplyDeleteYour collection of milk glass is just lovely. The pedestal bowl is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice collection started...the red flowers are beautiful in the milk glass. You will find a place for any collection...I know these things!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of milk glass. The red certainly shows it off! Or is it the pretty white glass shows off the red flowers??? Anywho, great post. Thanks for dropping by.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your collection...I have my grandmother's collection and it is so special to me..I think it looked wonderful on my baby shower table this week! I have candlesticks and a punch bowl set as well as a hobnail bakset on display! I love it and you got some great deals! Thank goodness for GW!
ReplyDeleteMiss Bloomers
I love milkglass too! I have a very small collection so far but am always looking for more. I like your pretty ruffled dishes! They look about the right size for cobbler and a scoop of icecream.
