A day in the apple orchards

Saturday afternoon was spent apple picking in Lafayette, NY. Unfortunately the sun didn't join us, but neither did the rain, so no complaints here.
The best part of Beak and Skiff Farms is the tractor ride into the orchards.
We picked Macintosh and Cortland apples...
...and the trees were filled with bright red apples
And of course, like a little boy, as soon as hubby saw a ladder, he HAD to climb it.
Off to bake an apple pie....

  1. Patti,
Looks like fun. I love going to farms and/or orchards whether they have apples, pumpkins, Christmas trees, etc. I've got the country in me!

  2. I love cortland apples and when we were in the NC mountains last week we bought a bag full. HOWEVER half of them were rotten!! We have always purchased apples from this fruit stand and I couldn't believe this!! I was home (5 hours away) before we realized!! So disappointing!
