I bought this old table at the flea market for $6.00:
I wanted a "Mackenzie-Childs type Courtly Check" on the top so I drew grid lines using a yardstick as a guide for width and length:
And being a right-handed gal, I KNOW I should paint from left to right, but I got carried away and got a bit DIZZY and smudged:
