Thanksgiving Brings Back Memories

My daughters have decided to host Thanksgiving and Christmas this year so my little dining table is set for an early Thanksgiving dinner for just the two of us!

Rita, from Panoply, is hosting our Thanksgiving Tablescape Hop and has gathered together quite a few talented bloggers - make sure you visit the sites posted at the end of this post!

I chose an animal print theme to go along with the Cheetah rug I purchased last spring.

The plaid fabric napkins are rolled into rooster napkin rings:

The Black Tie Flatware is for special occasions!

These little Iris depression glasses were my Nana's and bring back so many memories from my childhood.  I loved going to her home and I drank many glasses of apple juice from these glasses.  Now my grandsons, niece and nephews get to use them on holidays and they "toast" with the adults, just like my brother and I did as children!  Sweet memories!

CHEERS!

These stemmed glasses are perfect for water or wine:

The centerpiece was leftover from my Halloween/Fall decor - some pumpkins, berries and feathers in a leopard compote:

The dishes were purchased two years ago at Hobby Lobby:

I have collected Mackenzie-Childs ceramics for many years and have some lovely patterns in dishes and accessories, but this was my first Courtly Check CERAMIC piece and I still adore it:

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  1. Patti, I love your tablescape! Your MKC pieces are always enjoyable for me. Your first fluted bowl is stunning. I like pairing it with the HL cheetah dishes. I have enjoyed my set of Cheetah dishes very much.
    Your rug is delightful.

  6. Patti, your table is lovely with the animal print and MKC pieces. How special to have your nana’s Iris depression vintage glasses. The cheetah rug makes such a large impact. I do love animal prints. The fluted bowl is so pretty. So nice you don’t have to cook on the upcoming holidays. You can sit, relax and enjoy a bountiful meal with your family. Kudos to your daughters for stepping up. Happy Thanksgiving.

  8. Patti, I am always amazed with your stunning use of your McK-Childs pieces. I love the unique combination of leopard print with it. Bold, whimsy and a classic. 9. Patti, the cheetah and leopard is a fun twist on the traditional, while the compote full of fall bounty grounds it all. I love the tuxedo flatware. The memory of the first piece of Courtly Check has to be a fond one from adulthood, just as the iris glasses are from childhood. Thanksgiving is definitely a time of reflection of our lives and families. I love the fact that our daughters are now beginning to carry on the family traditions. Happy Thanksgiving, and here's to new traditions!
