A day in the Cazenovia area...

Mom and I headed out for another adventure today.

We went to Cazenovia to Old and Everlasting.

An old neighbor of mine owns this quaint little shop a few miles outside the village….

…MaryAnn has a knack of displaying her wares in such a manner that makes you want to buy it all!

I always have to walk around the shop a few times and I know I still have missed a lot!

Behind the shop we found the friendly goats...

…and for some reason….

…they thought we were there to feed them!

Another mile up the road is The Barn...

…an old barn filled with second hand goods and furniture….

…and grounds that make you want to wander...

…and enjoy!

We drove into the village of "Caz" to have lunch at the historic Linklaen House...

Lunch is served in the Tavern, Dining Room and out of the patio….

…so, we chose to eat outside...

…on the patio...

The Linklaen serves popovers instead of bread - a nice touch...

…and the French Dip was delish!!

Across the street is Lavender Blue, a lovely shop with tableware from the Mediteranean and across from there is Tizzy's, a charming little shop with this lovely entryway:

A few miles out of town is the Hilltop Herbery...

...where we bought Pineapple and Chocolate Mint plants!

We also stopped at Dazzle in Manlius.
I painted these flower pots for them last year and I was happy to see that they weathered the elements!

Mom and I were tuckered out after our day of fun and I came home and took a nap!!

I've been painting some furniture….

I have had a "painting surge of energy" the past few days!

I love painting demi lune tables!  This one was painted in a mixture of leftover chalk paints...

…a charcoal, grey, blue and cream!  I just dumped all the leftover paint into a plastic bowl and came up with this great color!

I bought this little chest last fall and just couldn't come up with a way to paint it.  I considered black and white stripes, but decided to try a simple beige, so I could try dark wax!

I mixed the dark wax with clear so that it wouldn't be too dark - and I loved how it turned out!

Just  a simple makeover that turned out so pretty!

I bought this maple table at the market and came right home and started painting it.  I mixed 2 different leftover green paints from other projects and came up with a pretty celery color:

I used the rest of the dark wax from the last project to dull the color a bit!

One piece has already sold and now hoping the other 2 sell quickly!

A quick, light dinner - my fav!

I must have SOME Italian in me
(but I don't)
because I could truly live on pasta
(and almond paste cookies)!

This is my "go to" dinner when I want some pasta in the summer:

Fresh herbs….

…..mixed with some florida seasoned salt, tellicherry pepper, and a mixture of 3 olive oils (cayenne, italian and basil)….

…fresh veggies...

… roasted...

…drizzle oil on pasta and toss the veggies on angel hair pasta….

I could live on this all summer!

In memory of those who died to serve….

….and the unofficial start of summer...

….with hot sunny days...

…and warm nights!

I just bought the cutest cupcake/muffin pan:

It is just so darn cute….

…and these cake mixes make 12 cupcakes - easy peasy:

Just perfect - so pretty:

I am looking forward to baking corn muffins and popovers in this baking pan!

But for now, we will enjoy a cupcake for dessert tonight!
