A Great Find...but what can I do with them?

While helping my mother clean out her garage last week, I came across these keys:
I'm not sure what I should so with them...
Some have some intriguing shapes...

You might remember what I made a few weeks ago:
Now I need a new idea for all these keys.....any sugggestions?

  1. Wonderful find! I would probably use them to tie on to gifts, craft projects, altered jars...it would probably look neat to put a few keys you like best on the ring...then hang the key ring from a knob or old nail.

  2. Put all of them in a glass jar for display.
Tie each key at intervals along string or ribbon, like garland, and drape across the mantle or on a vintage theme Christmas tree.
Put them all on a large ring and hang from your kitchen pantry door, or linen closet door... as if they were the "housekeepers keys".
String them like crystals from a chandelier/light fixture.
And I like the Sandra's idea above to tie them with ribbon to a gift.

  3. Some of them would be fun as a pendant on a necklace...."the key to my heart". Thanks for sharing with Made it Monday! Jules

  4. Somerset magazine has some with white string wrapped around them in a basket if I remember correctly. You could hang them from a spring branch in a vase? Hmmmm...let me think more about this one! I do like the garland idea.

  5. My Grandmother used to keep them on a giant ring, hanging on a hook in her home. They looked cute!

  6. I really like how they look all together on that key ring.

We've only had TWO canceled school days - - - but I've forgotten just now how many delays. For a while they said it would snow tonight - - - but now it's too warm and we're just getting rain.

  7. I think these keys would be best wrapped up in a box and shipped to me :-)
This was a great garage find. I have several old keys in a glass container on one of my shelves. I've also framed several together with a burlap backing. I use them on some of the snowmen I make too.
    Enjoy your return to winter!

  9. It would be pretty to mount two or three in a shadowbox frame to hang on the wall. I might even make fake labels to go under them with interesting place names, and pretend that they were keys to local historic sites or something! :)

  10. What a treasure to find!!!! I am so jealous. I have my eye on a project involving keys in our master bedroom. You will no doubt have endless uses..once again...so very green.

Thank you for your endearing comment in my little corner of the world. I love yours! Hope this is just the beginning of peeking into each other's little worlds.

  12. I have no ideas, except displaying them in a jar. I thought I'd read everyone's comments here to inspire me. :) Now you'll have to let us know what you will be doing with them.

  14. Frame them in different frames/mats and sell on Etsy as gifts for your favorite concierge. (the symbol for a concierge is a key!)
