I was lucky to find this great "white chippy paint" chair at a garage sale today - only $2.00! So I bought a geranium and place it in it's missing seat:

That chair is adorable and the perfect spot for geraniums.
ReplyDeleteI don't like gardening either!!!! I thought I was a minority of one - - - welcome to my club!
ReplyDeleteHi Patti,
ReplyDeleteI got so tickled when I read this because it made me think of my sis-in-law...she hates gardening too and I love to give her a hard time! My brother does it all for her and they have beautiful landscaping and flower beds!
I love love Susan Branch's newsletter and her garden...simply unbelieveable!! I just started gttting her newsletter this winter so thanks for sharing last years newsletter...so pretty and interesting facts about her mom & family! :)

Okay...am I weird for my passion of gardening? I can go a little overboard. But for someone who dislikes it, you have some cute little accents that make a difference!

My grandmother hated "digging" in the dirt. My grandfather's family owned a farm in Southern Ohio. She had to go down there every weekend during planting and then harvesting and help on the farm. Poor grandma! I do understand your feelings about the dirt. I don't do much gardening...but I do hate weeding when it gets out of control.
ReplyDeleteHi Patti!
ReplyDeleteI received your message today about your daughter. :) No, spirea is a bush and is not part of the lilac family (I don't believe). It is not fragrant at all. Your daughter might have white lilacs...so fragrant and pretty white flowers. I don't know...really can't say for sure without a picture. I hope this helps and I enjoyed your visit! :)
I definitely will have to get Susan Branch's books. Thank you so much for that tip. I have never read them but I love her calendars. I also have a couple of her dishes with her water color drawings on them. I didn't know if her books would have any "meat" to it?? Very pretty, but didn't know if they would be interesting! Can't possibly be so talented in both writing AND art! LOL! I now know! She can do everything...gardening included! :)
Thanks again!
